Neutrogena Corporation, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family
of Companies, is recruiting for a Principle Scientist - Technical
Assurance, located in Los Angeles, CA.

Neutrogena Corporation develops, manufactures and markets
premium skin and hair care products sold worldwide and
recommended by medical professionals. The product line includes
bar and liquid cleansers, shampoo, hand cream, body lotion, facial
moisturizers, sun protection and cosmetics, as well as other hair and
skin care products recommended, used and prescribed by
dermatologists.
             
The Principle Scientist of Technical Assurance will report to the
Manager of Technical Assurance in the Research, Development and
Operations organizations. This Position will lead cost saving and
reformulation and process design of skin and personal care products
from R&D to the manufacturing environment. Position will be
expected to seek, drive and accelerate change that has lasting and
significant impact as well as to engage, energize and support cross-
functional team throughout the change process. This individual will
interact and partner internally with other departments and divisions
and externally with business partners to create new and innovative
paths to technical excellence and robust process designs that enable
flawless execution of cost saving projects from bench scale to
manufacturing scale. The individual will be responsible for delivering
process specifications and product reformulation including defining
the process for production of OTC products for commercialization.

Qualifications:
This position will require a minimum of a Bachelor’s in Chemistry or
related scientific discipline.  An MS or PhD in Chemistry or related is a
plus.  In addition the position requires a minimum of 5 to 8+ years of
industrial experience in skin and personal care formulation areas.  
Familiarity with a variety of basic scientific and formulation
techniques and experience working in with OTC and skin care
products is strongly preferred.  It is required that the candidate be
self-motivated, productive, and possesses excellent influencing and
scientific problem-solving skills.  The ability to work in a highly
matrixed organization is required.  Good verbal and written
communication skills are required.  Familiarity with cGMP and other
regulatory requirements are preferred.  A strong knowledge of the
OTC development process required.  This position will require 10%
travel and is based in Los Angeles, CA.
